The German multi-disciplinary artist, Frank Bretschneider, presents his latest project, Pochen on 30 May in the Green Hall at Teatros del Canal. The co-founder of Raster-Noton displays this work in which rhythms are merged, creating unique synchronised animations.
Pochen was created in 2020 to mark the art festival of the same name in the city of Chemnitz (Germany), where he first displayed his work. This programme includes percussion sounds that are transformed, disintegrated and reorganised into complex rhythms. Synchronised animations are developed thanks to the rhythm of the live performance, creating a geometric pattern that varies in shape. The video artist stands out for his precise sound positioning and minimalist rhythmic structures described as analogue pointillism.
The visuals are the complement that accompanies the sinusoidal waves and white noise of each of Frank Bretschneider’s projects. His projects are unrepeatable acoustic and visual phenomena that are on display at leading international visual arts electronic music festivals.
