The ARCOmadrid art fair will hold its 43rd edition from 6 to 10 March 2024 at the IFEMA MADRID (Halls 7 and 9) fairground. A unique project that will unite past and future through galleries and their essential relationship with artists and collectors. This new edition shines a spotlight on the Caribbean, exploring galleries and artists linked to this part of the world.
ARCOmadrid 2024 will once again bring together a selection of great names in international gallery art, shining a spotlight on the Caribbean at this edition. This central project is designed to explore galleries and artists linked to the Caribbean from a broader perspective and scope, not limited purely to physical territory. This section keeps the connection established between the art fair and Latin America very much alive, and this year will feature twenty galleries selected by Sara Hermann and Carla Acevedo-Yates.
With the aim of exploring the discovery of new values, the event will include all its usual sections, with a General Programme whose Organising Committee is responsible for selecting the galleries and artistic contents that will be present at this edition. The ARCOmadrid 2024 Organising Committee is made up of the following professionals: José Aloy -Polígrafa Obra Gràfica-, Elba Benítez -Elba Benítez-, Eduardo Brandão –Vermelho-, Vera Cortês -Vera Cortês-, Henrique Faria -Henrique Faria-, Pedro Maisterra -Maisterravalbuena-, Alex Mor -Mor Charpentier-, Iñigo Navarro -Leandro Navarro-, Sten Nordenhake -Nordenhake-, Silvia Ortiz -Travesía Cuatro- and Rosa Santos -Rosa Santos.
There will also be other curated sections such as Opening, which explores the international young gallery scene, bringing together a selection of galleries chosen by Yina Jiménez Suriel and Cristina Anglada. As well as the programme Never the same. Latin American Art, curated by Manuela Moscoso and José Esparza Chong Cuy, which further investigates the diversity of forms, practices and artistic sensibilities from Latin America.
The ArtsLibris section continues to encourage collecting by providing a reference space for artist publications, self-publishing, photobooks and contemporary thinking.
